As an Afghan woman, I have tirelessly fought for my fundamental rights to education and freedom in a country plagued by repression. My dreams for my sisters all around the world, as well as those back home, are to experience basic liberties and opportunities for growth that I have yearned for. The road to this dream has led me to find a new home in the United States. Despite being miles away, my love for my homeland never wavers, and my hope for a brighter future for Afghan women grows stronger each day. To channel my passion for change and desire for freedom, I have turned to art as a means of expression. Through my paintings, I am able to convey the struggles and triumphs of my journey, and I hope that my art serves as a reminder of the importance of freedom and a beacon of hope for those who continue to fight for their rights.
